Just want to share if anyone else wonders:

Settings--> General --> Accessibility -> Display Accommodations --> Invert Colors (toggle to Off)

If you did not find a fix yet, my neighbor called me crazy with the same problem so I tried changing all kind of settings with the display. Nothing was working until I realized the problem happened when he initiated the three finger zoom. So I just searched zoom which is under settings, general, accessibility, zoom (under vision) shut it off and boom problem solved. Had to go back under display accommodations to shut off classic invert.

He has a iPhone 7plus

Hopefully that works for some other people.

The same thing just happened to me; my iphone SE was in my pocket and was not locked, then when I went to look at it a few mins later the screen was inverted and magnified. I "3 finger tapped" to turn off the magnifier, but couldn't figure out how to un- invert the screen colours. When I finally found it through settings-general-vision path I realized the "invert colours" option was still turned off. I turned it off and the screen colours went back to normal (un-inverted). I'm still using iOS 10.3.3, and have no idea how the colours got switched to "inverted" in the first place. Hopefully someone on here can figure it out for us.
