How do I enable java applets.

Hi,

I need to adminster a number of virtual machines hosted on a FreeNas system and accessed through a phpVirtualBox interface.

To access the console of the virtual machines a Java based VNC Viewer applet is launched. As soon as this happens my MacBook blocks the execution.

I have attempted to add the site to the list of safe sites, but as this is my home and accessed via a dynamic DNS redirection system, and I do not have an SSL Certificate I am not permitted to trust machines my own home.

I work abroad, I am not physically in the same building as the FreeNas server.

The machine is a mid 2012 Macbook Pro and has been factory reset and reinstalled with Sierra last night.

How should I approach this task?

It is possible that you are running into this issue from https://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_blocked.xml

"Java has further enhanced security to make the user system less vulnerable to external exploits. Starting with Java 7 Update 51, Java does not allow users to run applications that are not signed (unsigned), self-signed (not signed by trusted authority) or that are missing permission attributes."

Your error is discussed at the above linked to site. And once again I think you might want to visit the phpVirtualBox site. This appears to be a case of an app issue.

Hey,

ok so I am perfectly able to get into the website on the right ports, these are the browser settings relating to javascript and below is the error message once I attempt to view the remote virtual machine console.

So, I really don't care about these security settings, this is a freshly installed operating system, the website is hosted in my own home and I trust the application developers of the FreeNAS software and VNC Viewer completely.

How do I override the security settings in macOS Sierra and tell it to run this application regardless of what it thinks is a good idea?
