I got my stolen iphone 6s back and itunes does not recognise it. It is disabled and I have tried everything to access it. I have also taken it off my devices list on icloud. How can I reset it and use my phone again?

Have you tried to reset phone back to factory settings then set up again ?
Make an appointment at apple store take proof of purchase .

I have tried that but does not work. I connected it to itunes using my mac but it says its locked with a passcode. Its not giving me the choice to put in my passcode either. its just stuck on iphone disabled, connect to itunes. It also asks me to update and when I say yes, it asks me to restore. when I click on restore...NOTHING AT ALL. I am not near an apple store and need to access my phone.
