open Numbers

enter in first row your data, second row your data you want to compare

Click a separate empty field/cell

on the top bar >pull down fx formular>create formula - opens functions

go to statistical >go to> TTEST > insert function

In the field/cell click> sample-1-values then highlight your first data row

in the field/cell click> sample-2-values then highlight your second data row

Tails is> 2

test type is> 2 sample equal

(This is a paired sample t-test. The most common set up. This compares two groups of people - the one group drinking water, the other drinking beer. You want to know if they are significant different. This is expressed in a p=value)
