Something's seriously wrong with my iPhone...
Oookay, this is gonna be a long one.
I don't know exactly what to make of this. I don't know if my phone is being hacked, (is that possible with an iPhone?) or if someone has my Apple ID, ...... it's weird. (Also, I have an iPhone 6.)
The first odd thing I noticed was the battery percentage.
About a week ago, my phone turned off several times during the day while there was still charge left. I just kept it in airplane mode (to avoid notifications disturbing it) and charged it all night with the hope that it would be okay in the morning. It hasn't spontaneously shut down since then, but the battery percentage is all over the place. It drains very quickly when I'm on my phone, and even when I'm not using it. Today the percentage was at 1, then I charged it and within ten minutes it had only gone up to 3%, whereas usually it's up to at least 15% by then. When I switched from my mom's charger to my charger, it went up to 81% within literal seconds. My phone usually charges faster when it's on my charger because hers is for her iPad, but it's never that fast.
I've also been getting strange text messages from random numbers. Texts about drugs or strange websites. (I've never opened the texts, let alone clicked the links. I've always gone straight to the contact and blocked them before deleting everything.)
Just tonight I was talking with my brother on my mom's phone. Her phone died, so I went to text him on mine. He asked me why I was texting him with my iCloud account and not my phone number. I took to my mom's iPad and texted myself to test it out, and discovered that my phone number had redirected her to my iCloud account, too.
Yesterday I changed the password to my Apple ID, but apparently that didn't help.
I talked to my friend about it and she said that the same thing had happened to her when she found her phone after reporting it being missing. Her phone wouldn't call, and it switched her contacts over to her iCloud account. (The only difference is my phone still calls people.)
So... I don't know what to do. Any advice on what this could be and what I should do? Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to get every detail.. one can never be too safe, right?
Thank you. 🙂
