Logic Pro X - Sudden Latency Issues

I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface, running into Logic Pro X. I've been using it for around 6 months with no problems at all.
I recently bought a Roland TD25K drum kit to run through it and even that was really easy to set up and I was recording with no problem at all within minutes.

But in the past month or so, I've suddenly started experiencing problems with latency. I can't work out if it's because I've messed around with some settings on Logic and it's causing problems, or if there's an issue with my audio interface, or if it's a problem with my laptop.

Does anyone have any advice as to how I can pinpoint where the problem lies?

Here's what I'm running:
Interface:

Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen)

Macbook:

11-inch Air 2015

1.6 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Logic Pro X ver 10.2.4

Thanks for any help you might be able to give

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

It is a tool to use almost exclusively when you are recording and/or performing live. Turn is off when you mix. You can customize you control bar to include a low latency mode toggle button. (see the pic below). I find this very helpful.

In many cases, my first suggesting (From the Menu: Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio Make sure the I/O Buffer Size is 128 or lower) will solve noticeable latency issues. When I mix I change my buffer size to the highest setting (1024) as well.

Hope this helps.

It is not wise to leave the Low latency Mode checked all the time, it's only used under specific conditions. The fact that the OP didn't have a problem then suddenly had one points to something new installed. (Like the Focusrite Scarlett low latency modification file on their website, which has caused problems.) Or an OS or Logic upgrade.

See my post here....

When do I need to check the Low Latency box?

Hi Pancenter,

As far as I'm aware, nothing's different - that's why it's so confusing. I've tried restoring the settings on Logic back to their factory settings, just in case I accidentally changed something on there and it's causing these problems, but other than that it literally just stopped working properly overnight.

That's why I was thinking it could either be a problem with my laptop or the audio interface, but I'm not entirely sure how I can work out which it is (without spending money on a new interface!)

Hi Matt,

So, everything has been the same for six months, same exact Mac operating system, you must have automatic updates off in system preferences.

You deleted Logic's preferences and the control surface preferences? You've used the same Logic version for the past six months. Remember... it doesn't have to be Logic that's causing this, the most common culprit is the operating system being upgraded.

I recently got a Focusrite 2i4 (2nd gen) Have you installed the low latency program on this page. (Not sure that's a good idea)

If you have installed it... try removing it.
