VBScript Installation

Hi there when i try to install I tunes 7 i get this message about VBScript not being installed. so i went to the microsoft website to get it but when i try and install it i get the following error

"error registering the OCX C:\WINDOWS\system32\jscript.dll"

does anyone know what the problem is and are you possibly able to help me!? Many thanks in advance!

Dell, Windows XP, its truly annoying.

okay. it's plausible that you actually do have the VBScript in place, but it's just not registered.

perhaps try the second technique from the following document:

iTunes and QuickTime for Windows: What to do if the Installer crashes with a 2738 error

hi there! i tried that but sadly it did not work either! this time i got a new error it said

"Dllregisterserver in C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll failed. return code was 0x80004005"

any ideas!? thanx again for your help sorry for being a pain!!

okay. KayJee is actually way better at those than i am. (indeed, i defer completely to KayJee on them.) but her technique in the following post may be of some assistance with that one.
