Why is Safari unable to resume download ??

It is so extremely annoying that Safari is unable to resume an interrupted download. You are downloading 500 MB, you have downloaded 400, there may be some short internet failure etc. and your effort is completely wasted. Resume download - and start from 0 again. I can't believe that such an elementary function like resume the download where it ended is non-present in the "most advanced apple internet browser". It is more than stupid, sorry. What are all the "upgrades" about when this elementary function is not existing ?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

I thought this is apple support forum. I can't believe I am the first one to be annoyed by this primitive imperfection. Apple has not noticed this error over the past may years ? What are they improving all the time with each update ? Safari becoming 0,001 mm thinner ? Every freeware is able to resume download where it ended
