Best Mouse Mat for Magic Mouse 2

Hello,

I've got a Magic Mouse 2 - had it for about a year and it's not really that smooth going anymore.

Not sure if it's the mouse or that I'm not using it on the best surface

Anyone recommend a good mouse mat for it so I could give that a go?

Thanks

Gavin

I've had this problem for several years. I suspect there are a number of issues that can cause this. Surface, dirt clogging laser eye, or worn or dirty fliders. After reading other people's recommendations, saw one that suggested cleaning out the laser eye. I blew into it to remove any dust or dirt and it worked. I don't think there is any one answer. I checked and see you can buy replacement fliders on Amazon. Not sure if those work. I now have three Apple mouses. And it may be worthwhile rebooting your Mac. Sometimes that also works.

Hello Gavin,

I don't use a mouse mat, myself, I find them too small. I use a finely woven length of matt black artist's felt, available from most good craft shops. You buy it by the metre (its about 2 mm thick) and costs very little. My last piece cost 50p for a sq. metre and that was about 2 years ago. The big benefit apart from cost is that it is non reflective.
