Can my Time Machine backup drive store backups from multiple machines?

Question

Can my Time Machine backup drive store backups from multiple machines?

I am responsible for multiple iMac machines on my network, and don't yet use Time Machine.

Can I use one HDD to back up to multiple machines? Or is it best to have a dedicated drive for each machine?

You can use one drive for multiple machines, but note the size of the data you are backing up on each machine. If you have a 2 TB drive, backing up 4 computers with 500+ GB each isn't leaving enough space.
