Blue links don't work since they changed Gmail

The new Gmail wouldn't work so I was advised to delete it and restore it. So now I can get into Gmail. BUT, any mail I get with a blue link (like from Washington Post, The Guardian... to name a few) WILL NOT TAKE ME TO THE SITE. It says "open".... It won't open. It says "Add to reading List" I don't have one. It says "Copy" so I copy and paste and NOTHING WORKS.

I'm on an iPad mini which worked last night, but since you botched up Gmail, the blue links on it DON'T WORK.

Hello SaabSister ,

It sounds like your iPhone isn’t able to connect to hyperlinks with your Gmail. I don’t blame you for seeking a solution - it’s important to be able to connect to your links. You’re in the right place to find a resolution.

Let's start by closing your email app, then restarting your iPhone. This will clear out any history you have on the device.
Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Just to clarify you are using the Apple email and not a downloaded Gmail app correct? Please let me know if you are still having issues and we can move forward.
