Creative "Live! Cam Chat HD VF0790" Microphone audio not working with Sierra

My Creative Labs HD VF0790 webcam was working perfectly, both video and audio, with El Capitan (10.11.6) on my Mac Mini (Late 2012). After I upgraded to Sierra, everything appears normal in System Preferences -- Sound, etc as it did before however no audio comes out using Facetime, Siri, Google Chat, etc.


When I go to System Preferences -- Sound -- Input, the webcam is listed (USB) and the Input Level indicator is flickering leading one to believe it is indeed receiving audio input. However, the audio appears to die somewhere.

I opened a ticket with Creative Labs and got nothing useful save "Contact Apple with your problem".


Anyone have this problem and found a cure ? If not, how do I open a bug report with Apple ? Thanks!
