According to Mactracker, which bases it on the previous six months of completed auctions on eBay, a stock machine is worth about $395. Just a guess, but adding the RAM and the SSD, minus the SD, might add $100, for a total of about $495. Of course you can be more "precise" by possibly finding completed auctions for a machine exactly like yours. Another option is to sell on Craigslist, but eBay at least gives you an idea what to ask for it.

But they are not worth as much when they are used. I doubt that you will get much extra for them when selling them.

Yes. Please see my earlier post and explanation. Six months of completed eBay sales are a pretty good indicator of the price you'll get. I figured another $100 for the RAM and SSD, which is right on at about half price. $495 depending on condition. Of course you can ask as much as you want on eBay and Craigslist, I just don't think you're going to get it.

That's wayyyy out of line, but as I said, you can ask as much as you want for it.

I just bought a 2012 15" with a 500GB SSD and 8GB of RAM for 695, so I will wish you good luck with selling yours for 800.

I don't blame you. Craigslist is probably the next biggest avenue. Just make sure you get payment in cash and in person. Any reseller isn't going to give you near as much.
