how can i watch my itunes movies on my LG smart tv without the apple box?

I do not own an iPhone, but I do own an iPad and, with a lightning to HDMI cable/converter, I plug my iPad into my HDTV and watch whatever content I open on the iPad. When I plug it in (and set the TV to the HDMI port I plugged my iPad into), I can see my entire home screen on the TV with its app icons. Just to test, I plugged it in and watched one of the slideshows I had created in the Photos app.

You can watch iTunes movies on a TV three ways.
