Emojis won't work on the touch bar!
My MacBook Pro with touch bar and touch id won't let me use the emojis on a message!!!

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to select Emojis on the Touch Bar while composing or replying in Messages. If you haven't already, restart your MacBook Pro as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the macOS software running properly. Never underestimate the power of a good restart.
