guest user : how to enable ?

Hello,

Would appreciate some help here.

In System Preferences > Users & Groups I have checked "Allow guests to lg in to this computer" and "Allow guest users to connect to shared folders".

As a result I was expecting to see a Guest User button on the Login Window. But it doesn't show.

Question : Without a Guest User button on the Login Window how does a guest user log in to the computer ?

(I must be missing something stupid but can't figure out what).

I found this issue, too. I went into System Preferences > Users and Groups and UNTICKED the box that intuitively must be ticked, "Allow Guests to Log in" which, bizarrely, showed the guest account in my login screen when I booted next.

Equally bizarre, when I checked that preference pane just now, it opened with that box ticked.

Further weirdness, I came back here to type, and the box had unticked itself. I restocked it!

Now I wonder what I will see when I reboot next!

When I rebooted just now, with the Enable Guest User box ticked, I have a guest user presented on the login page.

I have absolutely no idea why unticking it previously will have worked, but, for me at least, it did. Now everything seems normal

I did the same as you and now have a Guest User in the Login Window !

Welcome to my world of weird and strange events. It is worth ticking the "solved" box on the solution itself to show others that it is solved, albeit in the strangest manner
