Initialising LMS

I am trying to load up an online course but I keep getting the message "error initialising communications with LMS" How do I fix this problem?

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.1)

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Safari/other browsers – Website not loading
