any recommendation on the usb-c to hdmi adapter @ 60 k?

Per this article, the late 2016 macbook pro supports 4k @ 60Hz, I have the right hdmi 2.0 cable, but any suggestion on the adapter. the one i got from amazon (Uptap) doesnt work all the time (have to restart when ever i disconnect from the monitor). Apple provided adapter only supports 30Hz at 4k!

So, i was finally able to get HDMI 4k @ 60Hz from the new 2016 macbook pro using the following

  1. Anker USB-C to HDMI Adapter, Supports 4K/60Hz, for The New Macbook/Chromebook Pixel From Amazon. http://a.co/hz5bwJP It's currently out of stock but i bought it for $21
  2. HDMI 4k latest standard from amazon basics http://a.co/2G5Z63U
  3. 4k tv with hdmi port that supports 60 Hz, this picture below is from LG UH6100 @ Fry's in San Jose, CA. I had a 4k Westinghouse that didn't work as it's hdmi ports only support 30Hz
  4. Important trick, must press option key while selecting Scaled->click on Show Low Resolution Mode->Refresh Rate->60Hz

no, the only work around i have to do now everytime i disconnect or sleep the computer is

  1. change the refresh rate to 24 hz
  2. change the refresh rate to 30 hz
  3. then change the refresh rate to 60 hz
  4. if i miss any of these steps, i get a blank screen on the TV!!

I'm definitely returning this adapter, i emails the seller on amazon but not sure if i'll get a response.

Well according to this support document from apple: "MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016) and late-2016 MacBook Pro models support 60Hz refresh rates over HDMI when used with a supported HDMI 2.0 display, an HDMI Premium Certified cable, and a supported USB-C to HDMI 2.0 adapter."

We are trying to figure out what hdmi adaptor can used. I received an email from the uptap (manufacturer of https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPY6AN8) that they are working on a firmware update to fix the support issue but no time frame on the release!!

I was going to buy Google's USB-C to Displayport adapter cause it does 4k @60hz no problem, but the issue is my work requires me to plug into tvs that only have HDMI ports on them... And it looks like there is no 4k @60hz HDMI option that works for the new macbook pros right now

any recommendation on the usb-c to hdmi adapter @ 60 k?
