How can I connect my USB Pen drive to my IPad 4?

Then drive is formatted to FAT32, as I already read somewhere that the IPad cannot read NTFS.

I tried connecting it using a Female to Female adapter to the USB end of my charging cable, but there was no sign of any connection on my IPad.

I have already read about the IPad Camera adapter, but I think this is micro USB and also, I do not want to connect a camera, just my USB Pen drive.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Connect the iPad to a PC/ Mac.

Connect the USB drive to same PC/ Mac.

Copy files to iPad via the 'Application files' in iTunes to the relevant app or use iTunes to sync after adding the files to your library.

iOS devices have lousy support for external drives - for example you can't easily use lots of videos, music files on an external disk. You have to copy them to the device and depending on the kinds & locations of files they may not appear for importing.

You may have better results with other devices that share files over wifi or use a PC/ Mac & a service like iCloud, Dropbox etc.

You can't just use any ole' USB flash drive with iOS devices.

There are a few special storage devices for mobile devices. There are portable, bulit-in WiFi hotspot hard drives for mobile devices made by Western Digital and Seagate.
