Will Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB work with MacBook Pro mid 2009?

I just bought a used Macbook Pro mid-2009 13inch, and wanted to upgrade the hard drive to a SSD. I was looking at the "SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB Solid State Drive (SDSSDA-240G-G26) [Newest Version]" and was wondering if this would be faster than the one I have right now and if it is compatible. Thanks!

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

OWC, OCZ/Toshiba, and Samsung make about the fastest that will work in your model. Most all SATA-based SSDs are about the same, but there are lower priced models whose write speeds are slower than their read speeds by a substantial amount. This is due to using less expensive components.

Your model's best SSD performance will be limited by the disk controller - if it is 3G or 6G capable.
