How do I add a watermark to my photos ?

I have an iMac OS sierra version 10-12-1

What would be the best way to add a watermark to photos in my iPhoto library ?

For a simple watermark - in Photos 2.0 you can also use the Markup Photo Editing extension, that comes for free with macOS Sierra version 10.12.1.


Add Markup from the Photos > Edit panel > Extensions (click "More ..." at the bottom of the list of extensions).

Now you can add text or simple Graphics from the toolbar:
