Hi,
I recently installed OS10.1.1 onto my iPhone 6 and since then the Home Button has stopped working, making it very cumbersome if not impossible to use the phone. I have restored the phone multiple times with no success and am now wondering if the only option I have is downgrade the System Software, or if there is an obvious fix that I am missing.

Can you define "stopped working"?
Hard to offer help with no details.
By "not working" I mean that when I push it nothing happens. Thus, when I enter an app I can't get out of it without turning the phone off entirely and restarting it.

OK...then I suggest you have a hardware issue.
I would call Apple Support to find out what your options are.
Just curious... how are you accessing your home screen without a functioning home button? What happens at the "press home to open" prompt?
That's the crazy thing. Any time I want to get into the phone I have to restart it by pressing the Sleep/Wake button to turn it off and then on, and then go into the one app I'm interested in.
Now you can access a few things by swiping right on the home screen and it then gives you access to some basic apps, but overall this isn't a viable situation and I'll need to call apple support . . .

What you're describing here sounds a bit like guided access. Possible?

Or still a hardware issue. If you have used iTunes to restore the device, it isn't software.
While you're researching possible fixes for your issue, you can do the following:
* Enable AssistiveTouch
AssistiveTouch floats a virtual button on-screen which can mimic all hardware buttons on the device:
Settings>General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch: turn ON
*Note* If you power off the device using the AssistiveTouch panel (tap the on-screen AssistiveTouch button, Device>Lock Screen (tap and hold to power off)), you will NOT be able to power on the device if your Sleep/Wake (power) button is not functioning. You will need to connect the powered off device either to a PC's USB port or an external charger to power the device back on.
