Nike+ Run app on treadmill

I just got the Nike apple watch. Due to weather I am currently needing to run on the treadmill. How do I use the Nike run app to actually track my distance? When I hit start from the app, after a couple minutes it dings that no distance has been tracked and to check settings in health app. I have everything set up on the Health app on my phone for the Nike+ app. I'm feeling confused and frustrated as I bought this watch to use the Nike+ app as it is what I have always used on my phone. Thank you!!

Hi

When using the built-in Workout app to record a treadmill running workout, choose Indoor Run as the activity type.

As GPS / Location Services data is not relevant for that activity, Apple Watch instead uses data from the built-in accelerometer to estimate results including pace and distance. Be sure to allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you run:

When instead using the Nike+ Run Club app, you may find it helpful to consult the developer's support resources for the app and/or to contact Nike for assistance:
