Font problems in Microsoft Word

When I download Microsoft Word documents the font Times New Roman automatically shows up as Caribbean Island - which is incredibly hard to read. Pretty annoying because almost all of my professors use Times.

Is there anyway to fix this? Or should I just uninstall that font? (Not even sure if I remember have to do that...)
