MacBook Pro 15 2016 can not pinch to zoom using trackpad

I have exactly the same problem.

i have try all erase system and install again delete all software and is not work.

I always need to go in settings and untick and tick pinch to zoom option.

Looking for a fix to this issue as well. MacBook Pro 2016 with macOS Sierra 10.12.3. I cannot figure out a specific set of actions that lead to pinch-to-zoom not working but it happens a few times a day. To fix, I have to go to settings and untick, then tick "Pinch to zoom." Resetting PRAM seems to make the problem go away for a few days but then it comes back.

I have exactly the same issue on my MacBook Pro 13" 2016 (3.3GHz i7).

It is really annoying and as mentioned above it can be fixed by unchecking pinch-to-zoom checkbox in trackpad preferences and then checking it again. But I have to leave the settings in between.

It happens several times a day without re-creating a particular workflow to make it happen.

Anyone an idea?

Same issue for me. Pinch to zoom stops working in all apps. Disable/reenable in trackpad settings temporarily resolves the issue, but a few minutes later it's back. Other gestures (scroll, smart zoom, rotate, show desktop, etc.) are not similarly affected.

Using macOS Sierra 10.12.5 (16F73) on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016).

Same issue for me too. I have tried rebooting/resetting PRAM/reinstalling system. All to no avail. It seems we need an update to Sierra as several of my friends have the same issue. I look forward to a solution as it is very annoyin!

I've got the same problem for months and was unfortunately not able to solve it. I would appreciate an answer or better a patch from Apple fixing this problem as it seems the only reasonable solution. New features on macOS with a yearly major release seem to be a nice idea but they are useless and annoying if they generate only new problems. "It just works" should be Apple's highest priority again, everything else is secondary…

I have found this problem stopped happening once I uninstalled "Magnet," an application that allows you to snap windows to different parts of the screen, much like Windows 7/10. After uninstalling it, I no longer have the pinch-to-zoom problem described in this post. Hope that helps!

I too have Magnet installed. Come to think about it, the problem started happening around the same time I installed Magnet.

It makes complete sense that this could be the problem as they are both associated with screen control.

I will uninstall Magnet and post back.

I hope if this proves to be the problem, a patch is released. I like Magnet. I also like pinch zoom!

It would seem that Magnet is indeed the culprit. Since uninstalling the app, the pinch to zoom feature is working perfectly.

I hope Apple bring out a patch for this. I found Magnet very useful.

I presume Apple will incorporate a similar type of software in upcoming OS updates 😊

to fix this issue try putting your computer to sleep then waking it back up. Let me know if that fixes the issue. If it does I think I may know what's causing it

I also have Magnet installed. It is currently running and I haven't noticed this problem happening in the last few weeks. Wondering if Magnet fixed the issue and was updated.
