Mail and Exchange 2007 IMAP

My exchange server was recently migrated to a 2007 beta, ever since then I've been having problems with my account, when I delete a message from the Mail app that deletion does not get reflected on the exchange server, same issue if I move a message into a different folder. Synchronizing the mailbox does not help, taking the mailbox offline and back online does not help and even restarting the application has no affect.
I'm also having the intermittent problem of the following message when I try to read mail:
"The message from "email address" concerning "email subject" has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
If anyone has any experience with this issue, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having this problem too. I contacted Apple about it and they asked me to send them some process capture information, so I assume they're still working on a solution. I'll post here if I receive any useful information.

The only workaround I found was to receive the mail over a POP connection from the Exchange server. I realize this is only marginally functional, but you could set up a POP connection alongside the standard Exchange connection and simply refer to that one when a problem e-mail came along.

I'm having a similar problem where Mail does not downlaod the body of some messages and there is no way to get it to download the body, it only pulls the header. This happens to about every 10th message. For friends of mine, it's more like 5 out of 10 messages.

We just migrated from Exchange 2003 to 2007 as well (switched to a major exchange hosting company called Intermedia.net).

Entourage, in the mean time, has no problem using exchange 2007.

Of course, the hosting companies don't want to support Mac mail,a nd I'm sure Microsoft doesn't care about the problem, so it's up to Apple to figure out what is wrong.

I hope they can find a solution.

I'm seeing this problem too. Having used Apple Mail for years on our Exchange 2000 server, a recent upgrade to Exchange Server 2007 has caused me to literally pull my hair out trying to be productive. I cannot stand switching to Entourage, Outlook Web Access, or any other tool because I've gotten so used to he way I use smart folders and searches within Apple Mail.

What I find is that the activity viewer appears to just get stuck forever trying to get mail or sync with Exchange. Sometimes, stopping the "Fetching headers" will unclog it temporarily, but more often than not, I'll get the error message that the message was not downloaded and I should take the mailbox online - but it already is online.

I've attempted following the Knowledge Base suggestions of rebuiling and reindexing mailboxes, but no help there. Sometimes it starts downloading mail and seems to get stuck on message 128 of (however many I have).

Somebody please help!!!

I'm interested in knowing if this fixes the problem for others. I've told my university about it, but I don't know when they'll apply the update. -DK
