My email is used by an unknown apple id

Hi.

I have a bizarre problem.

Someone has used my email address as their apple id, or secondary email address, not 100 % sure how it works.

I go to iforgot.apple.com, type in my email address. Then I get two choices, to send a "forgot password" mail to a mailbox which I do not have (T******@online.no, I do not own a online.no address), or to answer security questions (which I obviously don't know).

I have been in touch with support about this earlier, and they basically said that nothing could be done.

Once in a while i send batches of like 30 "forgot password" emails to this @online.no address to try to spam the person using my email address into conscience, but it hasn't yielded any results yet.

Does anyone have a clue of what I can do? Cheers,

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), iOS 9.3.1

But it's not verified! I have previously received emails from apple stating "verify your email address" (my email address). To do that I need to log in, to his account, which I obviously cannot do.

Why in earth someone wants to have someone elses email address, unverified, attached to their apple id, is beyond me. I find it annoying as **** 🙂 (I'm a developer)

This is the email received 6th of may last year (translated)

Dear ***** ***********

You recently *****.***********@gmail.com as new Apple ID. To verify that the email address belongs to you, please click on the link below and sign in with your Apple ID and password.

Verify now>

Why have you received this e-mail?

Apple requires authentication every time an e-mail selected as an Apple ID. The email address can not be used until you verify it.

If you did not make these changes or if you believe that an unauthorized person has accessed your account, please change your password as soon as possible from the account page for your Apple ID: https://appleid.apple.com.

With best regards

Apple support

If I never followed through with this email (I cannot, since I don't have the credentials to complete the step after clicking "Verify Now"), how can my email address be verified with his account?

I wouldn't call it a storm in a teacup. I would rather call it a very bad implementation of account handling and user self-administering. The email address should have been released when the user fails to verify the email account for 1.5 years.

Maybe I haven't expressed myself clearly enough. The address (a .gmail address) is mine. I can log on to it. I use a strong password and two-factor, I've had it for years. It's clearly mine.

But some dimwit has changed his apple id to my gmail address. He did this in the spring of last year, since I received an email the 6th of may 2015 about verifying the change in apple id (see my other post).

To conclude. I have access to the gmail account, but not to the apple account using the gmail account as apple id name. This is not verified, as only me as the gmail account owner can do it.

Ok now I belive you're trolling me lol. But I'm going to give it one more shot:

Last time you asked "What makes this address yours". Well the address, a gmail address, is mine.

The apple account using my email address (not verified), is not mine.

Then I guess its clearly a matter of opinion whether its OK for person to own an apple account and connect to it my email address which she or he does not own, so that I that own the email address cannot use it for my own apple id.

I am not looking to claim ownership of the account, i am looking to use my own email address on my own apple account.
