AirPort Express showing green light, but no Internet. Why?

We just bought a new AirPort Express. I've connected it to the modem.

The AE is showing a green light. The AirPort-tool on my MacBook Pro shows that the AE is connected to the Internet - but at the same time, is not.


When I try to connect to the Wi-Fi, it connects to the AE, and gives me a error message:
"Wifi has the self assigned ip address 169.254.69.150 and cannot connect to the Internet"


Help?

From your MacBook Pro click on the WiFi symbol, and then Network Preferences, then Assist Me ...


Follow through those prompts, it may be your previous network settings with the last network you connected to are "Stuck" on the MacBook, may have to go by selecting a "Home" network, which he Assist Me diagnostics should lead you to.

Okay, I will try to do that. The only problem is, that the modem 'belongs' to the landlord. And he will not return before sunday. When he does that, I will make him reboot it.


I did try to reset the whole AE to factory settings. Now it's no longer green; it's orange, says I have no Internet connection and no DNS.


When I connect the cable directly to a MacBook Pro (w/Ethernet), I do get Internet on the MB - so there's nothing wrong with the connection itself.


If I copy the IP, the SUB, DNS and Router-IP provided to my MB through the Ethernet-connection, and fill it in as static-IP on the AE - the light changes green and the Internet and DNS-problem in my router is gone. However, it still doesn't connect to Internet itself. The AE is all-green, but the "Internet globe" in AirPort-tool is still orange.


Can this be fixed by rebooting the modem?
I can only find out on Sunday ...
