Apple Pay works fine, except for 2 local grocers

I use Apple Pay regularly with no issues. However, I have 2 local grocery stores (Price Chopper & Hen House) that accept Apple Pay that I am having issues with. When I try to use Apple Pay in these stores, it acts as if it is going through, the terminal screen then says "Not Authorized" and that is it. I have to pull out my card and run it through using the same card, with no problems.

I never have this issue in any other store.

I have removed the card from Apple Pay and added it back. It does not help.

I even went from the iPhone 6 to iPhone 7, still the same issue.

I have talked to management at both stores, and they tell me they never have this issue. So, what is going on?
