Apple TV 1st gen 160gb iphone remote

I have an Apple TV 1st generation 160gb that I would like to use as a music player connected to my stereo equipment. Is there a way to control this old Apple TV from an iPhone/iPad without a TV or screen? I have installed the Apple remote app on my iPhone, and this functions very well when the Apple TV is connected to a screen, and is a good substitute for the original Apple TV remote that came with the device. But I have not succeded in completely controlling the Apple TV from my iPhone, because I cannot view the albums and somgs I have on the Apple TV HD.

Hm... It seems that I have found a way to use my Apple TV 1. generation 160gb as a music player utilizing both the iTunes remote and the Apple TV remote.

1. I have synchronized my iTunes libraries, so that I have a selection of music in aiff (lossless) format on the Apple TV HD.

2. The Apple TV is connected to my stereo equipment, without a TV/screen.

3. I turn on the Apple TV with the Apple remote from my iPhone (I have found a way to turn it on/off without a TV/screen)

4. I choose music from my playlist on the iTunes remote on the iPhone.

5. I enjoy good music flowing from the stereošŸ™‚
