Does having two factor authentication enabled affect using Apple Pay?

I have tried using my Apple Pay at three different stores that accept it and each time it was declined and I had to pull out my card. I went to an Apple Store and had them check it and it worked fine. I was also told it didn't matter what kind of case I had in my phone. Just tried to use it at Best Buy and it declined again.

Hi


Having two-factor authentication enabled does not affect your use of Apple Pay.


Check that you are following the instructions here, including holding your iPhone within one inch of the contactless reader until you see Done and a checkmark on the display:


Using Apple Pay in stores, and within apps and websites - Apple Support


You may wish to report your failed payment attempts to Apple. The form enables you to report issues with specific merchants, transactions and payment cards:
