How to connect 2016 MacBook Pro to 2 Dell P2415Q monitors

Hi,

First off let me just say that I am 100% new to Macs. I have used Windows laptops for everything but recently bought the new 2016 MacBook Pro. A lot to learn but so far a good experience.

I have two Dell UHD P2415Q monitors that work great with my Windows laptop and I would like to know the best way to connect these to my Mac. I would want the Mac to be closed and just use the two screens, like I do with my Windows laptop.

Is it possible to connect the two screens using just one of the thunderbolt 3 ports? I really hope that is possible since there are only 4 thunderbolt 3 ports available and one of those is for the power, so really only have 3 ports open.

If this is possible then how? What cables would I also need. I think I am right in that these Dell monitors can be daisy chained but with my windows laptop I didn't have to mess around with that since the windows laptop had an HDMI port and a mini display port.

Any help on this would be much appreciated as I don't want to buy the wrong cable(s).

As additional information, these monitors have the following ports on the back. Ideally looking to use the mini Display port or regular Display Port as these seem to provide the better UHD support.

The remaining ports are also down-firing and from left to right are; HDMI 1.4 (with MHL 2.0 support), DP 1.2 input, MiniDP 1.2 input, DP 1.2 output (for MST daisy-chaining), 3.5mm audio output, USB 3.0 upstream, 3 USB 3.0 downstream ports (making 4 downstream in total). Only the DP 1.2 and MiniDP 1.2 ports support 60Hz at the native resolution of the monitor, whereas HDMI and DP 1.1 is limited to 30Hz at the native resolution.

For the moment, it appears that while the MacBook Pro supports it in hardware (it will work with Bootcamp) - Apple has chosen not to allow the daisy chaining portion of the DisplayPort 1.2 MST capabilities in MacOS Sierra.

Also supported by my own testing. Really disappointed.
