iOS app like HandyShopper from the old Palm OS?
HandyShopper from the old Palm OS was the best mobile list manager I've seen. I primarily used it for groceries, but you could do more. Here are some of the features I loved most. You could:
- create different lists for each store
- choose which store or stores to assign items to.
- for instance, if you only want to get natural soap from Trader Joe's, you can assign soap only to TJ's and not your main grocery store. So when you bring up your Market Basket list soap doesn't even show up.
- or if you get salt from wherever it's cheapest, assign it to all the stores
- and if you check off salt as purchased, it gets checked off at all the stores you've assigned it to.
- when you view a store list, all the items you have assigned to that store show up
- create categories such as Produce, Frozen, HBA, etc, and when you're viewing that store, you can show only your Frozen items for that store if you wish
- sort by a variety of criteria, such as by aisle
- check off each item as you put it in your cart, and then check out to reset all items as you choose, as:
- needed, indicated by an empty checkbox
- already have, indicated by a dot
- purchased, indicated by a checkmark in the box
- and you could reset the items for just the list you're showing or for the entire store.
- record the price of items in each store to compare
- calculate which item was the best buy.
item A costs $1.49 for 9 ounces and item B costs $2.19 for 17 ounces, so which one is the best value?
- attach a note to each item and write in whatever you wanted
- create multiple databases, so you could have one for groceries, one for Christmas gifts, one for a workout log, etc.
Does anyone know of an iOS app that even comes close? Any help would be appreciated.
