LG UltraFine 4K Display issues macbook pro Sleep

So I have a brand new MacBook Pro 15inch max memory, max video memory. I have two of the new LG UltraFine 4K Displays. When my machine comes back from sleep the primary monitor will not come back. I can type my password to login even though the screen is blank. I have to unplug the monitor and replug it in to get the display back. Its bad enough I can't daisy chain the two screens but how can I at least avoid having to unplug the monitor several times a day.

I'm having the same issue. MacBook Pro 15" w/Touch Bar is constantly crashing with LG 4k display connected. Even got a kernel panic. One week with no display connected, and 0 crashes. Called Apple and they weren't able to help. Anyone have a solution or do we just have to wait ?

My Touch Bar buttons also stop responding often (i.e.: single volume and brightness key stop working, but up/down buttons continue to work; entire bar goes black when selecting emoji in Messages) but that's a separate thread I'm sure.

Thanks all,

Dave

Hey, my Touch Bar has exactly the same problems as yours, also the crashing of the MacBook is the same; Apple support couldn't help me either. But I already found a workaround: don't close the lid of your MacBook when you put your Mac to sleep with the LG4K display attached; I had no crashes since I do not close it...

So just put it to sleep via the Apple Menu and do not close the lid, it worked for me.

But still, the situation is very frustrating if you cannot close your MacBook without it crashing, and MUST be addressed by Apple very quickly!

This is an image of the Touch Bar not working: also very frustrating, Apple Support could not help me, only way to put it back to work was pressing the fn key which shows the function keys and then the touch Bar worked again.
