Secure connection failed

I keep getting the error message: Secure connection failed when trying to link to various websites from my home computer. It happens in Safari and Firefox browsers. I have turned my firewall off and on yet still have the same problem.

Hi,

What do you mean by "your firewall" ?

Do you mean the Mac one ?

Have you installed something like Little Snitch https://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html?

It is a firewall app that also notifies you as to the IP Address and Port an app wants to use so that you can allow or block at that point.

I have removed cookies; cleared cached web content; ensured website apps are noted under Security & Privacy in System Preferences to allow incoming connections; in Firefox browser I have set Auto-detect proxy settings for this network; in firefox I have unchecked 'Query OCSP responder servers to confirm the current validity of certificates'; I have confirmed my system's clock is set to the right date, time and timezone; and I have refreshed firefox.

I do not know how to fix this problem of not being able to access certain websites. I get the same error with accessing certain websites when using Safari.

Humm,

I have checked my Firewall and it does not list Safari or Firefox (which is the one I use) and neither are having issues.

Could you list a couple of the sites you are having trouble with ?

I take it you can log in here to post with no issues ?
