Brand new Magic Mouse 2 running slow

Bought my iMac couple of weeks ago. I'm a fresh Mac user, but an experienced computer dev. Never seen this before in a computer and thats kinda strange.

It is slow. Although:

  • speed is set right Apple icon / System preferences / Mouse / Tracking speed max.
  • battery is 90%.
  • mouse pad is a textile, dark, specially designed surface; it is slow regardless surface, tried several;
  • regular mouse, not an Apple one, the cheapest of them all, is running like a beast using the same computer.
  • bluetooth connection looks fine.

For now I'm going back to cheap-*** mouse. It is working extraordinary.

Is Magic Mouse is a sick mouse? Any advice? What could it be?

No tablet, no pen.
No. Didn't seem faulty. Product came packed as expected, works as expected.

Problem is mouse speed, which is terrible.
No close friends around to try using my hardware on their computers. Recently moved with my family to Italy. Not surprinsingly, hard to find one to speak English 🙂
There's an Apple store 40km away. I'm gonna just grab my mouse and get there one of these days. Thought I find something useful here so it will save a trip.
In the meantime, I'm using an ordinary mouse, which works great! USB wired mouse 😍

This is probably a Magic Mouse issue. Or a bluetooth problem, although working might not be set correctly. Although seems correctly set up.

You seem to be doing everything you should but I think you should re-check your settings and read this document about interference. Interference is the key to so many of the mouse problems.

Another thing to remember is the support side of Apple. If the mouse cane with the computer you have 12 months technical support which from my experience has been very good. The support person will run through your settings with you.
