MacBook Pro 2016 USB-C to DVI impossible

hi,

i've a new macbook pro 2016 and an apple cinema display with dvi and want to usw this as a display für my macbook.

i tried different usb-c to dvi adapters and none of them worked. In macos display properties the cinema display is recognized, but the display stays black and flushes from time to time. i try this with different dvi displays -> no one worked.

then i tried the official apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and use an hdmi dvi adapter: nothing. display stays back. also the monitor is not recognized by macos. with an hdmi display the adapter worked.

my thoughts about this:

at the moment you can't use a dvi display as a monitor for the macbook pro 2016.

has anyone an idea?

Mac Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.1), null

I have a similar question with my 2016 13-inch MBP TB. However, very frustratingly, my computer used to work with a DVI adapter but then simply stopped. After many tests and RMAs, I can safely say it is the computer, not the adapter, cables, or monitors. Resetting the NVRAM and the SMC many times has not helped. Installing the OS over itself has also not helped (in case it was a corrupted preferences file). The same computer using a similar VGA adapter works just fine, and hardware diagnostics comes back clean. The computer simply will not transmit a signal back to the monitors whether open or closed.
