I'm sorry but your question is a bit confusing. Chrome and Safari are not search engines. They are browser applications. Google is a search engine. Are your asking how to prevent your children from changing the default browser? Have you considered setting up a separate user account for your children so that changes they make in settings don't affect your account?

System Preferences>Users & Groups. Unlock the panel by clicking on the padlock and entering your passcode. Then, click the little plus at the bottom of the user box. Make sure that you don't allow the children's account to administer the computer. You can even set up a managed account that restricts what they can do.
