new sierra wallpaper displays file name

Hello,

When I use Mission Control to open a new space, it default to the original solid color that is pale yellow. When I go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver and choose one of the standard solid or picture wallpaper, I find the file location written across the middle of the screen in white letters. I am unable to remove this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the information Leroy. It did not work but it put me on the right track. I located in terminal all the com.apple.dock files and I found one associated with "Tinker Tools" that I had used recently. I asked it to change my permissions and preferences back to what they were before and the line disappeared.

I think my problem is due that for some reason the write command does not work. I was giving the command to make hidden files visible by changing the boolean to yes and it did not work. So I compared the plist with one that had the feature. The command did not appear in my file. So, via xcode, I transferred the command and it worked.

I wonder if you have any thoughts on this matter.

Nick
