I recently copied my music files, including my iTunes music, from my old iMac to my new MacBook Pro, but am unable to play music from my new computer. I get a message which says "You cannot disable playback to the local computer unless you select another AirPlay device for playback first." Not exactly sure what that means! Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure to, "Authorize" the new Mac in iTunes.
Launch iTunes then go to the iTunes menu bar, click Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer.

The computer has already been authorized. When I click on the AirPlay icon, I get the message shown in my original post. What I don't understand is the I'm not trying to disable playback on the local computer--I'm trying to play music on my local computer.
Maybe Airplay was accidentally enabled? Try the opposite of:

I contacted Apple support and was told to go through a reset due to a software glitch. Problem solved! Thanks to those who offered suggestions
