How to Automatically Delete Old Messages from macOS?

I love iOS's feature that automatically deletes old messages (older than one month or year): http://osxdaily.com/2014/11/03/delete-old-messages-automatically-ios/

This is because my friends and family love sending large pictures videos frequently and it ends up taking up a lot of space on my devices.

Is there a way to do this with macOS?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.1)

Hi,

The simple answer is No.

You can of course Delete conversations that are on Show in the app from the File Menu and the keystrokes listed.

You can choose not to Save On Close n the Preferences > General Section.
