Connect Surface to Cinema Display?

I have a Mac Pro (late 2013) and the following monitor:

Apple Cinema HD Display

23-inch (1920 x 1200)

AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB graphics

Does anyone know of a connector that would allow me to use my Surface with the Apple Cinema Display?

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Apple Cinema HD Display

Looks like Mini DisplayPort output on most models of surface. If they implemented that properly, it converts with a simple adapter to the Single-Link DVI input on the Apple Cinema Display. Mini DisplayPort is a thunderbolt (1 or 2) subset, so these adapters are sometimes marketed (wrongly) as ThunderBolt adapters.

Connecting the USB may be required to adjust the brightness of the display, but I question whether there is any software on the surface to accomplish that.

Firewire connection is only needed if you wish to attach Firewire peripherals using its built-in Hub -- the display does not use the Firewire for anything.

... an added note for Users who may find this post by searching: the 30-in cinema display is 2560 by 1600 native resolution. Since it is wider than 1920 wide, it would require the much more expensive Dual-Link DVI adapter to function properly.

Every Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter for sale at this writing requires additional power, typically supplied with a USB pigtail. This lead MUST be connected to USB power, but it generally does not need to be connected to an actual USB-A port for data (a USB charger will suffice).
