MacBook pro hissing speaker

I got a 15 in MacBook pro 2016 with touchbar. The speaker on my macbook pro is making this hissing noise everytime after the music or whatever sound stops playing. It lingers for about 20 seconds and then become quite. The sound is barely noticeable unless you put your ear against the speakers, maybe this is why I can't find this problem online anywhere. It basically sounds like the fan in the laptop is spinner faster and then slows down when the hissing stops.

I went in the apple store for an exchange, but the new one has the same sound. I just wanna know is this normal or at least very common? Or am I just too lucky to get it twice?

I'm seeing the exact same thing on my Macbook Pro 2016. I thought there was some issue with the speaker, and because I had a charger failure at the same time (something wasn't charging), I took the MBP in to have a look. It passed all of the hardware test, so I guess it's just a design flaw?

The Apple technician did mention that you'd hear hissing sound if the voltage wasn't right (I had charging issue at the same time and wasn't sure if it was related). Hopefully this is something they can fix with a software upgrade.

I tried to see if the same thing was happening on my old 2012 Macbook Pro, but with the fan and HDD running loudly, that kind of noise is hard to notice - so maybe this has only become a problem because of how quiet the new laptop is? 😁

Also having the same issue. I heard it on one in the Apple Store and the sales guy gave Me some flannel about it being caused while it is being charged. Total nonsense... it's doing it right now and I'm running off the battery.

I thought it was the fans at first but it's definitely not. Hissing noise appears when you switch applications and then if you do nothing else it will vanish 20 seconds later. It's very quiet but very annoying all the same.

Anyway... no doubt the fix will be hidden away in an update in a couple of years.

Cheers,

Ian.

Yesterday at the store a brilliant genius from our (not anymore) beloved company told me, I swear I'm not making this up, that the hissing noise is a feature to prevent sound distortion while reproducing content. 😐 I mean...this is beyond. And every 15inch available on site was emitting this wonderful trait. Thank you apple, only 3k and everyday it feels like standing by a river in the woods. I hope one day someone will address the problem.

Yes the level is very low but noticable. It will be interesting to try on windows with bootcamp. I monitored the speed fan with iStat and i didn't notice any increase during the use of the speakers. I think this noise really comes from the speakers. When i put in charge the mac when it is off, it makes a sound charge like iPad or iPhone with no noise.
