Home button not recognising fingerprint

My home button (iphone 6) does not recognise my fingerprint anymore. It was very slow/unresponsive earlier today until it stopped working. Have tried wiping the button, but it didn't work. When I try to reset it, the fingerprint symbol that turns red does not show up. Thanks in advance.
