IT still does not work.

I am referring to forms that one receives, say from a government department asking one to respond to questions. The rest of the form has my information pre-filled based on what they know about me already. At the end of the form, I must agree to the terms and conditions and then click on submit. Clicking "submit" does not do anything.

I Use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

MY wife uses a Windows based laptop and she has Adobe Acrobat 8. When I use her laptop, it works.

please help.

Not sure if you have access to an official copy of Adobe Acrobat; or one

of the applications the author used, because that is a most certain means.

Even then, some forms cannot be altered; permissions to fill blanks, aside.

Not sure if your macOS Help Viewer could find a suitable answer to doing this

In any event...

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂

I created a simple test, fillable form with submit/reset buttons using the last release of LibreOffice. These form buttons are inoperable in Preview (Sierra 10.12.1), but work correctly in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Build: 15.20.20042.205528.

Rather than whip the dead horse in Preview's PDF support, just use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, and let your PDF work as it was designed.

Adobe LiveCycle Designer, to my knowledge, does not use Adobe's AcroJS form scripting syntax, and uses its own XFA syntax. Since ALD is a Windows exclusive product, it, or the designer, may have introduced syntax into the PDF forms content that restricts full form functionality to Adobe Windows products.

That is my best guess, as your PDF sure doesn't work on the Mac.

One last thought. Open the PDF on the Mac in Acrobat Reader DC. In the Reader Preferences panel, click on the JavaScript category, and ensure that it is enabled. See if that makes a different in form submission with Reader DC.

I am unclear if this is online through a browser or you have access to the download and it is sitting on your Desktop?

If this is Desktop

You can try PDFpen https://smilesoftware.com/pdfpen

The best money I ever spent on software.

Last option if you cannot get it to work through the browser:

download/print the form

fill in required fields and sign (or whatever)

scan back in

attach as a .pdf and send it back

(more often than not, these fillable forms do not work with a Mac as the software creator automatically optimizes them for use on a Windows machine and/or the webmaster has designed the website to work best with Internet Explorer, etc - all things beyond your control).
