Audio file editor problem

Hi

I have a problem that appears randomly/periodic.
When I want to edit an audiofile in the Audiofile Editor I can't because the help text i the Function menu, when pointing at one of the menu items, tells me that " The menu item is disable because its a Read only file"

It is not.
The file is a my own recorded audiofile and I have all permissions to read and write.

I have treid to reset the permissions, both in the Project and Audio file folder. It only helps temporarily.
Sometimes a restart of Logic helps, but only temporarily.
The problem can also occur only from switching from one Logic Window to another.

I have seen the problem mentioned in some different forums but never any solutions.
Hope some off you guys have some comments.

My set up is:
Logic Pro X 10.2.4
OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Mac Mini ( Ultimo 2014, 2.6Ghz Intel Core i5 processer)

something else has the file open.....

Try bouncing in place that track and then see if you can edit in the audio editor

make sure flex is turned off ( although on mine it doesn't make a difference)

That's known 10.2.4 bug, same files is editable on 10.2.2.

I'll be glad to see any solution for this problem- for me its happen for files recorded in studio on external hd. All files on same project, same HD and same folder recorded at home are editable. All permissions are OK and till now, only solution is to open song in 10.2.2.

Thanx for your comment.

What do you mean by something else ...? Something outside Logic ?

I have tried bouncing, but it is the same result. It may work for a while, but suddenly it doesn't.

As I mentioned, the problem occurs after starting/closing Logic or switching between Logic Windows/screensets

I'm not sure we are talking about the same problem here. I only record on my internal HD, and I have had the problem during 10.2.2 too. My problem is only randomly/periodic.

I've seen the problem you described before in other Forums, but never any solutions. Have you tried the

I saw the same problem on 10.2.2. It was there for a couple weeks, then went away, then came back once, went away again. I do not think an update or OS update fixed it. Still on 10.2.2, still on the same OS build, and have not seen it for months.

And nothing else (that was supposed to have the file open) had the file open. LPX might think that something does, however mistakenly.

The workaround is to save, quit, relaunch. You will get a window of time, sometimes a short one, in which the file editing is available.

LPX is great, just a little buggy at times.

I've had the problem on 10.2.2 and now on 10.2.4 and I think it is getting worse. Theres no pause now, the problem appears overtime I use Logic.

I use the same workaround as you did, but it only fix the problem until I switch between screensets or Windows.

I see the problem described on other Logic foras, so it must be a generel problem or a bug.
