Adding a card on my Mac.

I understand to add a bank card to my iMac I need to go to System Preferences > Wallet & Apple Pay. However when I go to System preferences I don't see Wallet & Apple Pay.

Do I have to add it from somewhere else?

Thanks

Please read Apple Pay is compatible with these devices - Apple Support.

If your Mac is not one of those devices you can add a credit card using iCloud Keychain to be used when making online purchases through Safari for example. To do that please read macOS Sierra: Set up iCloud Keychain, and Safari for Mac: Use AutoFill for credit cards, contacts, and passwords in Safari.

You need a MacBook Pro with Touch ID to have the Wallet & Apple Pay in Sys Prefs as far as I can see.

You can open the iCloud Sys Prefs and log into your account. Then click the Account Details and then the Payments tab.

So why does it say under compatible devices in the document referenced above:-

A Mac model introduced in 2012 or later with an Apple Pay-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch
