Mighty Mouse drag & drop problem
As a recent switcher from PC to Mac I’ve encountered several problems with using the Mighty Mouse.
1) Right click: I’ve learned to lift my index finger when right clicking - - just a matter of overcoming old habits.
2) Side buttons: I just don’t use them.
3) Drag & Drop: It is impossible to drag an item from one edge of the screen on a very wide monitor using a reasonable amount of desk space. My old habit using a “standard mouse” has been to lift the mouse off of the desk while continuing to hold the button and reposition the mouse. This does NOT work with the MM because the switch for the button press is in the base of the mouse, so when the MM is lifted from the desk the item that is being dragged is dropped in an inappropriate place. If the mouse sensitivity is increased to the point where it is possible to transverse two 19” monitors, then it becomes almost impossible to make small, precise movements. This is where I don’t have a solution and would like some help.
How best to deal with very wide screen drag and drop?
