Rainer and all,

Happy holidays as well. I knew you would have some great resources. Someone 80 kilometers from me posted with a file transfer question. Turned out we were close enough to help out in person.

In the early days of computing, local support groups were very common. Now that every thing is connected to the web, once you get a file converted to an ethernet machine, you can take it anywhere in the world. I keep old hardware just for that reason.

Best wishes,

Jim

e tutti,

Feste felici pure. Ho saputo che disporreste di alcuni mezzi
grandi. Qualcuno 80 chilometri da me ha inviato con una domanda di trasferimento di file. Risultato eravamo abbastanza vicini a aiutiamo fuori in persona.

AppleIIFreak,

Off to camp in the 'black forest'(rain killed off the snow) and cut tipi poles for the scouts.

Hope these guys find some hardware options. Grant's advice on an ATA card for the B&Ws was great. Pysko picked up on the hint, bought some for Christmas and the one I installed so far was plug and play. When I get back, I will have to find the link and recommend it again.

The Italian Apple II club needs to rise again. : )

albiz,

Provengo indietro dal campeggio nella foresta nevosa. Stava
rinfrescando.

I am back from camping in the snowy forest. It was refreshing.

You should see mine!-nobody knows/realizes she is German-sounds like high-class british/Harvard-has never been in USA,though.Made money with translating ISO-rules.

School(her) I worked-today-state
Start with English 8 Years-last two years up to six hours(if choosen)
Special class starts with English/Latin or English/french -Latin or french from third grade. You can get Latin/french 5th grade as third language,or netherlands language.Last 3 years you can add spanish-you can get up to four languages until final examination.
Most of our exchange students going to USA are brilliant here, an A-class there. Some have to qualify because of lack of money-that's high-class export.
I've got one who made only A's even in chemistry-she didn't like here but was **** of capable.Called it easy!
Good luck with your student-and him(where from)

Dear misters

Excuse me for my silence. I was testing some solutions:

1) I have buy a superserial card and when I will receive it I will test the creation of an image of my old apple 5.25" floppy disk by way of software A2V2.
It's a not easy solution because it need very different old hardware and software part, not easy to found.

2) Actually I had some successfull with an erethical solution: I have found a PC (Pentium) with Windows 98, an Hard Disk, a 5.25" floppy drive and a 3.5" floppy drive. I have installed on PC a copy of software DISK2FDI. The trial version of this software realize an image of my old 5.25" floppy disk that I can see on some APPLE emulator that are working on Windows. For example "A2 Oasis" emulator seems to have some result, but it's difficult to use and it seems to have some problems.
I suppose that with a more recent emulator (possibly that is working on Macintosh) could be not problems of legibility of the image files.

PROBLEMS:

However this second solution have a problem:

the software don't recognize the side B of my 5.25" floppy disk. It create the image only of side A. When I insert the side B of floppy disk and run the software it respond that the disk is in a not support format.
It's possible that the reason is the PC 5.25" disk drive that is for 1.2M capacity (the old apple floppy disk had a capacity of 140 Kbyte for side).
Do you have an idea of why the software in this second solution don't work with side B of my old floppy disk?

best wishes
Tommaso
