HELP!! my new macbook pro won't start up

I was so happy to recieve my new macbook pro today but it ran empty.
It does not seem to be charging and now I can't turn it on again 😟 😟 😟y


Earlier today I have been using an external harddrive via my aukey usb hub.
This hub gives a green light when connected and I've already checked by connecting my charger to the pass through charging port without connecting the hub to my macbook and the green light pops up as well, so I would guess the problem is not with my charger?

Yes. Since I special ordered my laptop, they had me ship it back and then they put in a "priority" order for me to get a brand new replacement. Mind you, my laptop was barely 24 hours old when it died. So I expected (and hoped for) nothing less. I have to say they got it back to me in a very quick time. As I type, I'm restoring my data and hopeful this doesn't happen again. I'm considering Applecare now. Did you get it?

same here, new macbook pro 15 with touch bar was fine for a few days then died, no way to charge or start up. took it to apple store today and they had no tools to look at it or open it. so gave it back. Very disappointed after spending hours formatting and putting everything on it not to mention the wait for the machine itself. Back using my 2011 MBP and wondering what to order next...

I've been in contact for 3+ hours with apple support on twitter yesterday.

I've been on the phone this morning for 2,5+ hours.

In the end they finaly told me I could go to the apple store in Brussels today and exchange my macbook...

For all the problems I have had and because I would go all the way to the apple store in Brussels, I would get a compensation in the end.


So I did...


Unfortunately when I got there they told me they were not able to do so because it was an online pre-order, they can only exchange items that have been bought in the apple store. Items that have been ordered online had to be returened via ups and a new order had to be made....

Apparently Apple store can't reproduce the issue during repair and tried to just return it to me as is..

I'm obviously not gonna take back a piece of $3000 paper weight.

Funny thing is at the Genius bar they reproduced the issue with 2 different Geniuses yet they still have the courage to brush it off. It is documented in the Work Authorization as well.

I also have EXACTLY the same issue! Had my new MacBook pro with Touchbar for 24 hours--just long enough to load it up with all my data and apps. Then it just died and won't start up again. There seems to be a manufacturing issue perhaps.


You'll be reading about it in the papers if I go to the Genius bar and they hand it back to me saying there's nothing they can do! I'll just call my credit card company for a FULL refund and go with another brand laptop. Bye bye Apple.
